DBM was established in 2011 in Dalian, China, with a clear focus on the practical challenges of metallurgical production.
Our work is shaped by a simple understanding: equipment used in a steel plant must do more than perform a function in a controlled demonstration. It must remain reliable in heat, dust, vibration, electromagnetic interference and continuous production. It must also fit the plant’s existing layout, utilities, control system, maintenance practices and operating procedures.
For this reason, DBM develops solutions around the application rather than around a standard equipment catalogue. We work with steel producers, metallurgical EPC contractors, engineering companies and industrial automation partners to understand the process first and define the equipment configuration afterwards.

Steel production depends on people making accurate decisions in difficult environments. Some operations are hot, repetitive, physically demanding or difficult to measure continuously. Others depend heavily on manual observation and experience, which can make process results vary between shifts or make important information difficult to trace.
DBM exists to turn these difficult tasks into more measurable, repeatable and manageable operations.
We do this by combining perception, measurement, mechanical action and control. The purpose is not automation for its own sake. The purpose is to help plant teams obtain more reliable information, reduce unnecessary exposure to hazardous areas and build a clearer connection between what happens on the shop floor and what is recorded in the control system.
DBM’s capability is built around the connection between the physical process and the information needed to control it.
Our projects are developed for real production environments, including steelmaking, continuous casting and rolling. Application conditions such as temperature, product presentation, production rhythm, installation space, utilities and existing control interfaces are part of the engineering definition—not details to be considered after the equipment has been selected.
Machine vision, industrial sensors and online measurement provide the information needed to inspect, identify, measure and monitor materials or equipment. The value of these technologies depends on how well they are adapted to the material, environment and operating sequence.
Robots and application-specific mechanisms turn measured information into a practical operation. Their design must account for movement, access, protection, maintenance and the way operators intervene when conditions are different from normal production.
An equipment package becomes useful only when it communicates with the plant. DBM considers control logic, operator interfaces, alarms, data records and interfaces with existing PLC, SCADA or MES systems according to the agreed project scope.
The final result depends on more than the equipment itself. Technical clarification, documentation, manufacturing, testing, installation coordination, commissioning, training and after-sales support must be connected throughout the project lifecycle.
